Location: Danko/Wasagu LGA of Kebbi State.

Who They Are: They are a sub-set of the Dakarkari people of Kebbi State. They have a similar culture to the Dakarkaris and speak C’lela (the Dakarkari language).

Language: They speak Hausa as a trade language, and C’lela.

Religion: Predominantly (about 80%) idol worshippers.

Occupation: Peasant farming

Major Strongholds: Idolatry, Drunkenness, Witchcraft activities.

Why MCM is Entering into this Field Now

We believe that if this people group is not reached with the gospel now, in the next five to six years to come, Islam will overrun the place. This was the way their neighbouring Wurawa people where some 10 to 12 years back without any serious move by the Christian community to reach them with the gospel. When they waited in vain for Christianity to come to them (which they would have preferred to Islam), they had no choice than to embrace Islam             en masse. This has informed our urgent need to move into this tribe with the gospel.
